Principal's Message
PTMS Families,
It was so fun to welcome your student back from a week off. They had lots of stories of time with family, friends, relaxation and a little bit of travel. This week our counseling team offered our Career Speakers Series in which professionals came in to speak to our students about their career. Each day offered a different career and included medicine, graphic design, engineering and business. The students who elected to go really appreciated the opportunity, and I am glad we are able to offer this.
During lunch, other students gathered in the gym to watch the World Cup, highlighted by our viewing party to cheer on the US team on Tuesday. As you may know, the US team came away with a 1-0 victory.
Finally, as the winter season is upon us, please encourage your child to practice good hygiene including frequent hand washing. If your child is sick, please be prudent and have them stay home to get well. Our educators are always willing to work with your student to catch up when they return.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Scott Wild
Principal

Students do not need to sign up. Academic Power Hour is held in the Learning Commons, Monday through Wednesday, from 2:50 to 3:50 p.m. Please see this flyer or contact your student's counselor for more information.
Career Week
This week we have been visited by a selection of parent speakers who graciously gave up their time to talk to our students about their chosen careers. Over 150 of our students signed up to attend sessions about being engineers, doctors, graphic designers and business people. Some students even attended every day! As well as being grateful to our parent volunteers we were also hugely impressed by our students who asked our guests many mature, thoughtful and intelligent questions. A fantastic, worthwhile and interesting enrichment week!

PTMS Golf Season Recap
Congratulations to the 2022 PTMS Golf team for placing 2nd place in the Big 8 League this year. This year's team comprised of the following students:
Joshua Baek (7th), Griffin Dieter (8th), Theo Lardon (8th), Jacob Lee (7th), Acacia Lu (7th), Colton Sallaway (7th), Olivia Suh (7th), and Eddie Zhang (7th).
The team impressed from tryouts and bonded as a team throughout the 10 week season. Our top players regularly shot 3-over to 7-over during the 9-hole matches. Congratulations also to Theo for logging in a hole-in-one during one of the matches. In the finals match up, PTMS went toe-to-toe against 2-time defending champions Oak Crest Academy and indeed it was a very, very close match as PTMS ended up short by 2 strokes after adding up the top 5 scores from each team. However, we are super proud of our Wolves for playing through illness, adversity, and injury throughout the season and we look forward to an equally strong performance with many of team members eligible to return to next year as 8th graders.
