Panther Cross Country
This weekend the cross country team competed at the 13th Annual Flyin' Hawks Invitational, hosted at TCC by Birdville HS.
The boys team saw a vast improvement from last week and the overall season. We had a team average time thirty seconds faster than we have had all year. That is having an average of thirty seconds faster per person on the team. The boys were lead by a 9th place finish by Grayson Barber with a time of 16:16, his second fastest 5k ever. Junior Trey Clower finished under 18:00 for the first time with a result of 17:52. The boy's team finished 14th in the 5A/6A division and are on a nice trajectory to continue to improve with at least two more meets to go.
The girls team were led to a 4th place finish in the 5A/6A girls by the four headed monster of Gretchen Pfeiffer, Brenna Casey, Samantha Widmann, and Sophie Leathers. The team was the best 5A team in the race and had several personal records set.
The Junior Varsity kids did great, including the JV Girls finishing 5th overall in the JV division. Much like the varsity teams, the JV teams also had many prs. The teams are geared up for the District Meet on October 20th and is on a trend that will continue to improve.
