Hello Santiago Families!

Happy Friday! We are off to a great start to the new school year, both students and staff are starting to get the hang of things!

VERY IMPORTANT: Please remind your students about the importance of ONLY crossing the street where there is an adult assisting with crossing. There have been many students crossing in between cars, and it is very dangerous. We need your help with this, and thank you in advance for supporting us!

As a reminder this newsletter will be delivered every week on Fridays, as well as a recorded phone call home each Sunday that will contain important reminders for the week. Please watch for these communications so you feel informed!

Back to School Night is Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 PM in the amphitheater here on campus! We will send home a formal letter on Monday, August 29th that explains the event, but you can also read below for more details. Families with Spanish speaking parents can join us in the Lecture Hall at 5:45 PM! We can't wait to see you!

Our first Hello Dance is coming up this Friday (9/2)! See details below.

If you have been having troubles finding our calendar, here it is, and here is our bell schedule!

Back to School Night, THURSDAY, 9/1

Back to School Night in middle school is an opportunity to do a "meet & greet" with your student's teachers. Due to space limitations, we do ask that families try to leave children at home. Students are not expected to attend.

Early next week, teachers will be sending home videos that explain their management plans, procedures, and expectations through email. Please look for these emails, and plan to watch the videos prior to coming to Back to School Night so that you can bring your questions for the teachers when you see them on Thursday. When you meet each of the teachers, they will share a little bit about themselves, their contact information, and be available to answer a few questions.

Here is what to expect:

  • 5:45- Spanish Information Session for our Spanish speaking families (MEETS IN LECTURE HALL)
  • 6:00- General Session (MEETS IN AMPHITHEATER)
  • 6:30- Back to School Night meetings begin with period 1. Parents and guests will move from class to class to meet each teacher.

Students will receive a hard copy of an information letter on Monday. This letter will give students an opportunity to write down their schedules so parents know which classrooms to visit each period. Please watch for this letter, or you can click here for a digital copy!

Finally, don't forget to stop by the library to check out our Book Fair!

Please let us know if you have questions!

Book Fair is Coming!

It's Book Fair time!

Please stop by the library from August 26-September 2 to discover new titles! We will also be open for parents to visit during Back to School Night. All purchases through the Book Fair benefit our school. Thank you for supporting our students!
