Principal's Message
Welcome back for another great year at Boone! We are very much looking forward to seeing all of our students return to school on September 5th and get off to a great start in their new classrooms.
I hope to see many of you at our Family Fun Fest and Open House which will take place this Friday, September 1st, from 12:00-3:15PM. Please see the flier below for more details. And for those of you who can't make it, don't worry! Our teachers are already planning several parent engagement events that will take place throughout the year.
Thank you all for your support in our ongoing work with your students, and we will see you soon!
Sincerely,
Jackie Delaney, Principal

School-Wide Read: "We're All Wonders" by R. J. Palacio
As we begin the year by building our classroom communities and promoting caring and acceptance of everyone, all Boone students and staff will be reading and discussing the book “We're All Wonders” by R.J. Palacio. We encourage everyone to further discuss the book’s message at home. Here is a brief review of the book:
The unforgettable bestseller Wonder, soon to be a major motion picture, has inspired a nationwide movement to Choose Kind. Now parents and educators can introduce the importance of choosing kind to younger readers with this gorgeous picture book, featuring Auggie and Daisy on an original adventure, written and illustrated by R. J. Palacio.
8th Graders: Activate Your GoCPS Account Before School Starts Next Week
To begin the account activation process, visit this page: http://go.cps.edu/
Keep in mind that “Activating” is not “Applying.” Applications will not be available until October 2, 2017, but by activating now you can complete important application preparation steps like viewing your student’s program eligibility, requesting edits and updates to missing or inaccurate student records, and saving your top programs as favorites.
If you have misplaced or did not receive your Activation Code, please contact the Office of Access and Enrollment’s call center from a telephone number on your child’s CPS student information file to have it reissued. The call center can be reached at 773-553-2060 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
