Mark your calendars! Our BOY (beginning of the year) Conference week will be Sept 27- Oct 8. Your child's teacher will be reaching out to you to schedule a personal conference to look at your child's current levels in Reading and Math, set goals for the year, and discuss strategies and plans to help them succeed. This conference is extremely important to set the stage for your child's success this year.
Please reach out to us at 817-814-7400 if you have not already scheduled your conference.

MAP Family Report
Recently, all Kinder-5th grade students took a MAP Growth assessment in Reading and Math. This assessment helps parents, teachers, and students understand their current level and performance, set goals for the year and what skills they are ready to learn. You will be receiving the family report this week.
A summary of how your child is performing academically, as measured by the most recent MAP® Growth™ test.
What is MAP Growth? A test that adapts to your child’s responses to measure your child’s skill level.
Why is my child taking MAP Growth? MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
What do achievement and growth mean? Achievement: How well your child has learned skills in a subject compared to similar students nationwide.* Growth: A measure of your child’s personal progress over the year.
What is a RIT score? The overall score for a subject based on a Rasch unit (RIT) scale that indicates how your child performed in a subject. *Similar students: Kids with the same starting RIT score, same number of weeks of instruction, and in the same grade.
For more information, please click on the button below for an informational video about MAP scores. Your child's teacher will also be discussing these scores and plans with you at the Family Conferences.
We will be celebrating our BRIGHT futures next week!
