ReadWorks
ReadWorks is a site that offers passages and comprehension questions that look a lot like some big tests we take. http://www.readworks.org/ They offer a wide range of topics, paired texts, and reading levels. It is sorted into grade levels, but also has Lexile levels (great for working off of your NWEA data.)
Google Lit Trips
These are pretty neat, I haven't used them in a classroom, but I played around with them a little bit. Basically you use Google Earth to explore books, really cool. http://www.googlelittrips.com/GoogleLit/Home.html
NEWSELA
Newsela https://newsela.com is a website that has current events that are scalable by reading levels. On the right side there is a way to switch the Lexile level. We found out over the summer that there are some premium features for a price, but it does a lot of cool stuff for free.
Computer Science Education Week
Computer Science Education Week is December 7-13th. More information at: https://csedweek.org/ Please check out code.org for some ideas of how to implement the hour of code around that time.
