Great Things Are Happening Here! Join Our Journey

Dear CES Families,

February is here and I am so excited that we made it through January with only one snow day! Please keep in mind that due to that snow day school WILL be in session on February 15th. This will prove to be a busy month as we have Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 11th and Valentine's Day Parties on Friday, February 12th. Notes detailing each of these events will be sent home next week.

Each year the Arkansas Department of Education sets test score goals for every school in the state of Arkansas. Each school must grow/improve each year to meet those goals. The goals are set for Literacy, Math, Number of Students Tested, and Attendance. In the Math and Literacy categories, there are several subcategories and goals are set for EACH of these categories. Each goal not met (% increases every year), is highlighted in RED and for each goal met the highlight is GREEN.

I am so proud of our students and CES Team AWESOME because for the first time since this report was released several years ago, we are all GREEN!! This means our achievement gap is getting smaller and that is what we push for every day! Thank you for being our partners in education. It takes all of us working together to build a school where dreams are supported and children are encouraged to reach their full potential!

We are still classified as a Needs Improvement School because the state requires us to meet the annual objectives for two years in a row. Once this happens a school is moved from the Needs Improvement to Achieving list. Achieving is not enough for Team AWESOME or our students. Our aim is high and we are aiming for Exemplary! Thank you for helping us move one step closer to this goal.

We are Team AWESOME and we ARE your Partners in Education!

CES Family Blog

Blogging provides an opportunity to model digital citizenship, reflect, exercise voice and empower our school family to join in the education conversation. This blog will be a place where ALL stakeholders have the opportunity to contribute and share. Submitting a post is easy! Just type it up and send email it to Mrs. Norton knorton@carlisle.k12.ar.us. She will make sure it gets posted to the blog site. If you have pictures to add to the post, insert those into the doc as well (or we can find some to add).

Let's use this opportunity to shine and share! If we don't tell our story...someone else will and we want it told correctly!!

We hope you take advantage of this oppportunity!! #gamechanger

Morning Drop Off - Afternoon Pick Up

Thank you so much for keeping in mind that students should not be dropped off prior to 7:30 am and never without an adult present on the sidewalk. This has been a problem in the past, but I am proud to say it is MUCH better!! I appreciate your diligence in helping us keep our kiddos warm and safe.

Please remember to have your car tag visible in the afternoons during pick up time. This is another added safety measure and it speeds up the loading of our students.

The 100th Day of School

We celebrated the 100th Day of School at CES on Thursday, January 28th. Kindergarten students and teachers dressed like they were 100 years old. Cutest thing ever! Many math and reading activities celebrated and supported this event!

Mrs. Kelly's class even counted to see where 100 steps would take them! It was a fun day of learning at Carlisle Elementary School!
