LAFSE Closure Update 3/27/20
What are you doing to take care of yourself?
Greetings from your LAFSE leadership team!
We are saddened by the announcement that we will not be returning to school this year. We wanted to reach out to you right away to let you know that we are here to support you during this time.
Here are some things that we know are important to you:
1) Employees will still be paid their full salary.
2) Pay requires that employees are engaged in work activities.
3) The district will be providing a detailed overview in which EVERY staff member can engage. This is not paid time off.
We know that this change in routine has been hard. The constant influx of news and the changes from day to day are providing an overload of information and feelings of uncertainty.
We want to reiterate that we are here behind the scenes working on your behalf and will continue to communicate with the LAPS admin to deliver clear and consistent information to you about what the coming days and weeks will look like.
We understand the emotional and mental toll this takes on all of us. We also know that you may have many questions. We will do our best to help answer them. Your union is here to serve you. So please reach out if you need anything.
During this stressful time, we want to provide some resources for self-care and ask, "what are you doing to take care of yourself?"
