FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM
Dear Parents,
There is so much happening at present both in class and out!
Year 12 students have responded well to our assembly in which it was explained about the need to start work immediately, and the step-up needed to succeed in Year 13.
Thank you to all those students who have volunteered to help tomorrow at the Summer Fete. We know the PTA relies on the good sense and 'muscle' of our Year 12 girls and boys to ensure this event is a success, and we know you won't let us down. Contact the organisers or Mr Giles when you arrive to make sure you have a yellow wrist band for the day.
Congratulations to our Music Technology students who really provided the 'icing on the cake' for the concert on Thursday evening. Please see the report below.
Also to all the Art and Photography students whose work has contributed to the stunning exhibition which is currently in the Chapel at Senior Girls. If you have not already had the opportunity to view it please do try to look in before next Wednesday.
The geography field trip last weekend was a great success both in terms of the skills and data acquired by the students to use in their A2 studies, and as a team building occasion. Thank you to Miss Clifford and Mr Osborne.
We are looking forward to seeing many of our students at the Summer Ball next week.
Best wishes,
Andy Giles
Stephanie Rogers
P.S. We hope you like the improvement to Mr Giles' desk! (Thanks Lauren).
BRILLIANT CONCERT
Described as the most original showcase evening ever at Senior Girls! Was it Music? Of course. Was it Drama? Certainly quite a lot of that on show. Music technology - most obviously, but seeing a 12 way set of mixer channels moving across the screen whilst Ed Axtell sang live with his 12 other selves was genius. And so very much more: Flora Gault and Annie Mears sang, James Roach was behind the scenes with some fantastic technicals and Zac Sanders 'Happy' composition was aired. Maddie Curran held the evening together in her role as compere.
The standing ovation from the audience was totally deserved, and as said at the close, this was just the end of the first year. Congratulations to all the students and to Dr Meaney and Miss Goodsell who have achieved this miracle. We are really looking forward to next year.

SIXTH FORM SUMMER BALL
Are you ready for the SUMMER BALL next Thursday 30 June? It is from 7:30 to 11:30pm at Lillibrooke Manor, Ockwells Road, Cox Green, Maidenhead SL6 3LP.
Please do try to arrive by 8.30 pm at the latest for your two-course meal. Also some staff members you will want to see are coming early to say 'hello' but not staying for the meal, so do come early to say goodbye to them.
Remember that if you wish to purchase alcohol you will need to have your ID with you.
If any students are unsure if they have paid or want clarification on how much they owe, please speak to Mr Crawley. Please make any cheques payable to ‘Claires Court Sixth Form Social Club’.
Special Attraction at the Summer Fete
Tomorrow, as part of our celebration of the great outdoors, we are being visited by the Great Gun Dog Company and their wonderful dogs.
They will be giving demonstrations on how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils (aged 3 to 12) who wish to learn how to 'work' the dogs are then invited to practice the commands that they see in the demonstration.
After the event, two or three children will be selected and given certificates as finalists and will have the opportunity to progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the Midland Game Fair on the17th September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. More information
