translucid

materials that only allow part of the light to pass through. it makes look the image fuzzy or distorted.

Examples:


  • butter paper
  • tinted plastics or glass
  • some kinds of minerals

opaque

materials that doesn't allow any light through

Examples:


  • rocks
  • food
