DWEIC
The Wylie ISD Districtwide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC) is taking nominations for 2022-23 committee members! We need parents, community members, and local business members. The committee meets four times per school year to discuss and give feedback on a variety of district initiatives and focus items such as the Wylie Way, district demographics, dropout prevention, the district improvement plan, and more. If you or someone you know would be interested in serving, please fill out the nomination survey.
ESSER Survey
Wylie ISD received ESSER III funding for COVID relief in the spring of 2021. Information about this funding and how the district is utilizing this allotment can be found at wylieisd.net/covidrelief. Parents and community members are invited to give feedback on the use of funds and return-to-school plans via this survey. Your feedback is part of our ongoing evaluation to ensure we are meeting the needs of our students, staff and community.

Mapping Your Future Monday
Interested in participating in a Wylie ISD video? To help our students get a glimpse of the many career opportunities available to them, we are asking for help from our Wylie ISD parents, family members, and graduates! Our goal is to create short career videos that align to the career experiences that our students choose as part of their high school graduation plan. If you are interested in being in a career video, please complete the survey linked here. Thank you!
A La Carte Price Increase
Student Nutrition recently increased ice cream prices from $1 to $1.25 due to rising supply costs. If you have placed a “limit” on your student’s meal accounts for a la carte items, it is possible your student is unable to purchase certain a la carte items. To remove or update the limit, please contact our cafeteria manager. You may locate contact information here.
Cafeteria Payment Reminder
Parents, we love when you join our students for lunch! Just a quick reminder that if you plan to purchase a meal from the cafeteria, our student nutrition employees are only able to accept small cash bills ($1 or $5) and/or checks. Credit cards are not accepted and due to federal regulations, parents are not able to use student accounts. If you have any questions, please contact Student Nutrition at 972-429-2330.

Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival
The school doors open at 7:00 a.m. for students to enter the building.
· Classes begin at 7:30 a.m. The tardy bell rings at 7:35 a.m.
· Students are expected to be in their classrooms by 7:30 a.m.
Student arrival procedures are as follows:
1. Car riders- parents will form a single line in the front driveway. We ask that cars pull ALL THE WAY up in order to keep the car line moving in the morning.
2. Bikers/Walkers- students need to cross the street where the Akin crossing guard stands. This will ensure that students are safe and being monitored when crossing the street.
3. Daycare and district buses- buses and daycare vans will drop off in the back parking lot at the doors by the gym.
PLEASE NOTE: The back parking lot is designated for buses, daycare, and our FASE/SEAS students.
- Do not get out of your car to get your child out. This is a safety concern and it stops traffic flow during morning drop-off.
- Do not cut in line or cut through the parking lot to drop children off.
- Handicap parking spots are to be used for those individuals who need them and are allowed to park in them.
- Cell phones are not allowed in a school zone.
Dismissal
*If there is a change in how your child will be getting home, please contact the front office before 2:00pm. This is very important. Also, please make sure your child's teacher is aware of how they will be going home.
Car Riders: Dismiss from the front doors.
Parents wait in the carpool lane until directed to stop.
Parents must have their car tags visible to pick up students.
Please do not park your car and wait on the front porch with your car tag to receive your student. The line will get much faster over the next few days if we have everyone’s cooperation.
Marquee Pickup: If you have notified your teacher your child is marquee pickup please wait for your child in the grassy area near the marquee. An adult will bring your child out to the marquee only if the teacher is made aware they are marquee pickup. We ask that our marquee pickup only be utilized for neighborhood families that walk to pick up their student(s).
Back Door Walkers: Back door walkers will be dismissed out the rear doors next to the gym.
Front Walkers: Front walkers will be dismissed out the front doors near the kinder wing in order to be escorted down to the crosswalk at Springwood Ln. and SWA Allen Blvd.
Bus Riders & Day Care:
Students who ride the bus and daycare vans will be picked up from the back parking loop.
