From the VMS Media Center

September 2014

Welcome back to school!

The media center has been a hub of activity welcoming students back to school! The media program had information available for students and parents at Open House in August, and students have completed their beginning of the year media center orientations.

Media Center Orientation

All 6th, 7th and 8th grade students attended Media Center Orientation again this year. Orientation is a way for our students to get to know the media center and what resources it houses. This is particularly helpful to our 6th grade students since this is their first year at VMS. For our 7th and 8th grade students, Orientation provides a refresher on the policies and procedures in the media center.

This year Orientation was infused with a bit of technology. Students took part in a QR code scavenger hunt to learn about the media center. Using QR codes with the iPads kept students moving and engaged while learning or reviewing media center policies and procedures.

All purchases help support the media center.
