W.E.B. DuBois (William Edward Burghardt) was born in Great Barrington, Mass. in 1868. He went to Harvard and Fisk university. He wrote many books. For example, " Souls of Black Folk'', '' Dusk of Dawn", and " Black Reconstruction''.

W.E.B Dubois was and educator, historian, and sociologist.He taught economics and politcal Science. Dubois was an assistant instructor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Major/ Lasting Impact on Georgia and the U.S.
He launched legal attacks on the government saying that blacks shouldn't be taxed more because of their race. DuBois is in Georgia's Writer's Hall of Fame. He was a civil rights leader that helped end segeration in the U.S.
