Administrivia
Week of 11-5-18
Missed a Week
Last week was so busy, I completely missed an Administrivia! This week is already off and running with lots of happenings between the election tomorrow, report cards and the fast approaching holidays!
Report cards are due this week by Wednesday morning. Plus, we have a PD opportunity for a few select staff members next week. See the information below and let me know if you would like to attend.
Barry Lane (yes, THE Barry Lane) will be coming to Morgan next Tuesday, Nov. 13, to present an assembly. More information on the assembly can be found here:
http://www.forcefieldforgood.com/
Voting will be ongoing tomorrow at Morgan. Election materials have been removed from the front lobby. You can remove the orange sticky notes from your classrooms if you like. Voters will not have access to the main part of the building, only the lobby and stage areas.
Morgan Elementary will be open all day tomorrow. If you choose to come in, you will have access to your classroom without interfering with voting. You are welcome, but NOT required, to come in tomorrow if you want some quiet time to work in your classroom.
Have a great week!

Please let me know if you would be interested in attending this training. I have a copy of the book in my office for you to review if you would like.
I need to let the Board Office know who is attending by the end of this week. I can handle the paperwork for your sub.
Report Cards Due Wednesday by 8:00 AM
Quarter 2 Reporting Forms
If you have any forms from Quarter 1, please submit to me by Wednesday of this week so they can be sent to HR by Friday.
Kaleidoscope Writers
Looking for a Morgan Entry
UPDATE: I have a student who submitted a piece of writing because she wants to "win again". If you have a student who has an admirable writing piece, please consider sending to me as a submission. Otherwise, I will submit our student to "win again".
Morgan is looking for an entry to submit to our annual Kaleidoscope Writing Contest. Each year, a Morgan student is a part of this book and gets to share their writing.
If you have a student who you feel has an exemplary writing piece, please submit to me and I will take care of the entry form and scanning the writing to send to Leah Einhaus.
Thank you!
The Michigan Reading Association is hosting the annual K-12 Kaleidoscope Writing Contest. The Informational Flyer (#4A) and the 2019 Kaleidoscope entry form (#4B) from the Michigan Reading Association are attached. This year we are encouraging all K-12 buildings to participate.
Please submit the completed manuscript electronically as a Microsoft Word attachment to Catherine Einhaus, catherine.einhaus@uticak12.org by Friday, December 7, 2018. Be aware that the specific word limit guidelines must be adhered to otherwise the entry will be rejected by the Michigan Reading Association.
The scanned entry form and photo of the student must also be submitted to Catherine Einhaus, catherine.einhaus@uticak12.org by Friday, December 7, 2018. For your convenience, Catherine Einhaus and Dawn Nacker, Elementary System Wide Co-Chair for ELA, will be compiling all entries and submitting them to the Michigan Reading Association.

Observations
If you have a specific lesson, curriculum area, or activity you would like me to see, please email me the date/time so I can see if I can attend to take notes and provide feedback.
I will be using the same form I used last year, adding feedback and then providing you with a copy for your records.
Any questions/concerns, please let me know.
