A Message from Dr. Lambert

Good afternoon,

Each year, schools in Conroe ISD have an Academic Conference with Dr. Null (Superintendent) and other district administrators. Conferences this year focused on classroom visits and observation of the amazing learning taking place. Our Academic Conference was this morning. I am personally thankful to have had the opportunity to highlight the great things going on at Bush Elementary.

Joining Dr. Null today was Dr. Hines (Deputy Superintendent) and Mrs. Garrison (Director of Elementary Education). We visited second and fourth grade classrooms as well as some of our specials classes. I have shared Dr. Null's tweet about the visit beside this message.

As a school, we exist for our students. The adults in the building who make the greatest daily impact for our students are our teachers. It was such an honor to share the everyday work teachers and students do with Dr. Null, Dr. Hines, and Mrs. Garrison. I know you can't see the smile on my face right now, but I am beaming with pride. It is such a privilege to work with the students and teachers at Bush.

Take good care,

Dr. Jarod Lambert

Together we can read for a better life!

On Wednesday, September 22nd we celebrated Read for a Better Life day! The Conroe Independent School District is promoting a culture of reading by calling to action all adults within the Conroe ISD community to devote at least 30 minutes a day to reading aloud to children. The single most important thing you can do for a child is…Read for a Better Life!

Report Cards

The last day of the first grading period is Thursday, October 7. Report cards will be accessible to parents via Parent Access Center (PAC) Friday, October 15. Please access report cards online as they will not be printed at this time. Make sure that you have registered for a PAC account in order to access your child's report card and monitor ongoing progress.

Lost & Found

The weather will begin to cool soon, and the children will begin wearing sweaters and jackets. Please remember to label these articles clearly with your child’s name. Also don’t forget to label water bottles, backpacks, and any other personal items. If your child misplaces an item please remind them to check in the lost and found located in the gym.

referral requests for gifted and talented testing

Referral requests will be collected from October 1 - December 17, 2021 for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted starting Oct 1st. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 17th. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.

Recognize a Teacher Achieving Excellence (TAE)

If you're looking for a way to say thank you to a teacher or highlight the impact of a Bush Elementary staff member, we encourage you to access your Parent Access Account (PAC) to write a Teacher Achieving Excellence (TAE). If you don't have a PAC account yet, you will want one. You can monitor your child's grades, attendance, and much more. You can use this link to create an account: https://www.conroeisd.net/parents/. You will need to know your child's 6 digit ID. (It's their lunch number.) To create a TAE, look under the communication tab.

Roadmap to Remaining Open

Conroe ISD's Roadmap to Remaining Open is available online at https://www.conroeisd.net/roadmap-to-reopening/. Please check back for up-to-date information. The site is updated as new information and guidance are received from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Governor's Office, and state and local officials.

Reminder: Transportation Changes

Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to your child's teacher or provide a not to the front office with the following information:

  • the date
  • your child's full name
  • homeroom teacher
  • bus number (if applicable)
  • your signature

If an emergency arises, you may send an email to bush@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include all of the above information, including a parent signature, and must be received before 2:00 PM. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above. Teachers do not check their email regularly throughout the day, so transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher.

Please send a new note for each day the change occurs; we cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.

Reminder: Forgotten Item Drop-off

Please help your student be fully prepared for their day by ensuring that they have all needed materials (i.e., backpack, lunch, and water bottle) as they arrive at school. We are unable to deliver lunches and water bottles to students. We will ensure that any student who forgot lunch is fed in the cafeteria, and we will provide water to any student who needs it.

If you need eye glasses delivered to your child, please bring them to the school. We will deliver them to your child immediately. Any class work, binders, or books dropped off at the school will be placed in the teacher's mailbox to be picked up during the day.

Delivery of flowers, balloons, and similar items students at school is not permitted.

Spirit Wear order after the July 1st pre-order deadline

Big picture

If you placed your Spirit Wear order after the July 1st pre-order deadline, and you did not receive your items at Meet the Teacher, then they were included in our second order with our vendor. In an effort to not have unnecessary stock on hand and spend unnecessary funds, we only order what has been pre-purchased by parents. Our second order deadline closed on 8-31 and our order was placed with the vendor last weekend. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks for the items to be printed, received by us and delivered to your student's classroom.

If you have any questions, you can contact president@bushpto.com.
