Welcome 8th Graders

Ms. Le's Classroom Newsletter

Here is to a fantastic start to our 8th grade year together!

8th-Graders and Families,

I'm looking forward to a great year of learning, and growing! We are going to make large strides in our academics this year in preparation for high school and the STAAR test! We are going to have an amazing year together.

Who is Ms. Le?

I want to start by telling you all a little about who I am and why I teach. I've been a teacher at the AMAZING Thomas A.Edison Middle Learning Center for three years. It has been a great three years of learning and falling in love with West Dallas. I came to Texas from Washington State 3 years ago through Teach for America, and I haven't thought of leaving since. I love the time I have spent here. This summer I traveled across the United States with my sister, and spent time with my huge family back in Kent, Washington. However, I could not wait to come back to my equally large West Dallas family. I look forward to continue exploring West Dallas to learn about this community. I hope you can help me learn all about it and abut YOU!
What is MY teaching philosophy?

My beliefs about what you and your child bring to OUR classroom

What role can you play in my classroom this year?

As a parent....

I invite you to come explore my classroom, see what your students are learning in my classroom. I want to learn about you and your family because it is important to your child's success in and out of my classroom. Every family member is an important part of our success this year.

As a student...

I want you to show me what makes you unique! What makes you who you are? This year is about exploring your strengths and weaknesses. Let's see how can you use your strengths to overcome your weaknesses. Show me who you are, and I'll help you understand that you have no limits.

Growth Mindset

You're probably curious about what we're going to do in 8th grade. You will be able to grow by leaps and bounds. This year is more than just a STAAR test, it is about getting college-ready. We can all get smarter through perseverance, dedication, and teamwork. Everyone in this class has the ability to meet their goals. Make sure you keep a GROWTH MINDSET, think about the positives, and do not be setback by the challenges in your way. We are going to work hard, and we are going to have a ton of fun while we do it.

I look forward to an unforgettable year.

Sincerely, Ms. Le
