Message from Dr. Moore
Happy February! January definitely flew by!!!
Our students took their MAP assessment (Measure of Academic Progress). Teachers have been analyzing our student growth and setting goals to help each student level up! Once teachers have goal setting conversations with students, they will be sending the reports home in your child's Tuesday folder. If you would like to see their scores sooner, please send an email to your child's teacher requesting more information.
Our Valentine's Parties are fast approaching! Please RSVP to this link: RSVP.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
Kelley Moore, Principal
Susan Fossler, Assistant Principal
Grace Smith, Counselor
Lost and Found
February 14th at 2:30-3:30pm.
Please feel free to bring treats for the class. Treats must be store bought and unopened. No home baked goods will be allowed.
Please RSVP here if you are attending. You can also indicate if you will be checking your student out after the party.
Please park in the back behind the cafeteria for the party. This will prevent the car rider line from being blocked or you getting blocked in by the car rider line.
Literacy Tips from Ms. Paugh!
Here are some extra tips from our literacy specialist!
Technology Tips from Williams, the Tech Coach
Reflex Math / myON
Does your student need something educational to do at home? Your student can use Reflex Math to practice their math fact fluency and myON to read books.
Reflex Math can be accessed at reflexmath.com for computers and Android devices. For Apple devices, the app "Reflex Student" can be downloaded. myON should only be accessed at myon.com as the myON app isn't reliable for either Android or Apple.
If your student is unable to log in, email firstname.lastname@example.org. I usually respond within 24 to 48 hours.

Helpful tips for working with your student at home:
- Let your student know that you value education as an important part of his/her future
- Communicate with your student’s teachers and let them know you want to be involved
- Check your student’s school planner regularly for homework assignments
- Set aside time every day for homework
- Make sure your student completes his/her homework
- Talk to your student about good and bad things that happened at school that day
- Help your student use problem-solving skills in difficult situations
- Know your student’s friends and their families
- Communicate with your student’s school counselor if you feel he/she need extra support
Just a friendly reminder: if your child has vomiting, diarrhea, or fever, they cannot come to school until they are symptom free WITHOUT medication for 24 hours.....This is in accordance with Texas Administrative Code, Rule 97.7.
Please send Kinder and 1st grade students with an extra pair of clothes just in case of those unforeseen accidents! We have some clothes in the clinic, but we don't always have the right sizes!
District Attendance Policy
I'm super excited to announce that our attendance is already up from last year! Way to go, Wildkats!!
I would like to ask you all to please remember that we use every minute of our instructional day, so we really need students here all day.
Please note that school starts at 8:25am and ends at 3:40pm.
Please limit early checkouts to party dates and/or emergency appointments.
We are conducting regular residency checks to ensure our students are at school regularly. If we notice several absences, we will be conducting home visits and setting up appointments to complete an attendance contract. It is imperative students are in school EVERYDAY, ALL DAY!
Please remember Attendance counts!
REMINDER ABOUT TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
If your child will be going home a different way, please let the FRONT OFFICE and your child's teacher know right away. Telling the teacher is wonderful, but sometimes they can't check their email until it is after school, so your best option is always the main front office.
If messages are not cleared or given in time, please know the teachers are trained to send kids home their regular way unless told otherwise by administration. We CANNOT take a child's word for it when it comes to leaving school safely.
Please make sure your transportation change has been called in by 2:00pm. Any calls for change in transportation after 2:00pm will not be allowed unless it is an emergency. Please make note of this for future transportation changes!
