Principal's Message

Our Star Students of the Month (for November) were selected just before Thanksgiving and announced to the entire school today. The students were selected by their teachers for demonstrating our first star principle, "Staying Safe". These students have consistently modeled behaviors to keep themselves and their peers safe. We would like to congratulate our BRS November Star Students!

During December our students will be working hard to demonstrate what "Taking Responsibility" looks like. Our guiding principles in our school community for taking responsibility are:

  • Being accountable for our words and actions
  • Being willing to do what is asked and expected
  • Accepting challenges to grow and learn

In the coming weeks, staff members will be looking to nominate a Star Student for the month for December. The December Star Students will be announced on Wednesday, December 22nd.

The first trimester concludes on Tuesday, December 7th. The second trimester will begin on Wednesday, December 8th. Report cards will be available to view on Genesis on Friday, December 10th. Hard copies will also be send home on Friday, December 10th.

PTA Holiday Drive

Last Call:

The drive will end on Friday, December 10th. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

For those of you that are unfamiliar, this program helps to provide children in our community that are less fortunate with coats, clothes, food, and gifts from each child’s specific wish list. In 2020, we were able to help 64 Lumberton children from 28 different families; this could not have been done without your continued support.

4th Grade Turkey Trot

On Wednesday, November 24th the 4th grade students participated in the 3rd BRS Turkey Trot race. We weren't able to participate last year due to the pandemic so this was a nice event to bring back for the students. The teachers and students had a great time as they challenged their classmates.
