How to check and or change your course Selection on Skyward this summer!
How to Select or Change your courses on Skyward
1. Click on Family Access
2. Login to Student account
Login: Student ID number
Password: Date of birth ex 04202006
3. Choose Schedule on the left side of the Screen
4. In the center of the screen choose View Available Courses for 2018-2019
5. If they are not correct email your child's counselor awest@ems-isd.net
6. Verify you have one type of the following for each grade level:
6th- ELA, Lit, Math, Science, Social Studies, PE, One elective, and Advisory
6th GT Track: GT HUM ElA, GT HUM Social Stu, PAP ELA, Math, Science, PE one elective, advisory
7th- ELA, Lit, Math, Science, TX History, PE, One elective, and Advisory
8th- ELA, Math, Science, History, Maps/Health, Two electives, and Advisory
Attention current 6th and 7th Graders:National Junior Honor Society-Community Service Hours
Established in 1929, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle-level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. Start Earning your hours now!!!
Requirements:
•Application date at end of 5th Six Weeks
•93 average in Core Classes ELA, Lit, Math, History and Science each of five six weeks.
•The semester test and grade are not averaged into that average
•Citizenship grades count
•Community service hours– At least 5 different places
•All community service hours must be recorded in your child's Career Cruising Account

Summer School Information
This program will be offered to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who have failed two or more core subjects (English, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and/or Science) or whose overall average is less than 70 and are designated as being retained.

Cost: $300 for 2 courses | $400 for 3 courses | $450 for 4 courses
Transportation will not be provided. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
