Reading Challenge:

Reading challenges are due every Friday!

This is the last reading challenge for this year. :)

Please remind your student to bring their independent reading book and pink reading log to school every day. Weekly reading challenges are due every Friday.

* Students must write 1-2 sentences for each section of reading, even if they read more than one section in one day.

Spelling focus: No more spelling for the rest of the year!

*Please be sure to check your child's planner every night! This nightly routine helps form good habits, fosters responsibility, and helps prepare children to become more independent in the future.

**Please also check in with your child about their daily behavior (color cards) and help reinforce the importance of making good/positive choices at school. Thank you.

Library News

What a great year in the library. Your children have read so many books: we have checked out 19,000 books so far this year!

With only 3 more weeks of school, we are starting the process of getting all the books back into the library.

Students will be able to check out books one at a time for the rest of the year as long as they have their overdue books returned.

Please help your students return their library books –I will send home overdue notices again this week.

Thank you for all your support!

Your librarians,

News from the Nurse

Head Checks!!

I have heard from families that lice is back. It is a good idea to check your child’s head for lice on a weekly basis. Good lighting is the key to finding those pesky bugs. If you think your child may have lice, let the nurse know. I will follow up with your child and let you know what I do or do not see.
