HRE Helps Houston

HRE would like to say thank you to everyone that was able to donate to Braeburn Elementary School in Houston, Texas! Your help was truly appreciated! Our Assistant Principal and three of our teachers left on Tuesday to help Braeburn Elementary unpack the full semi we sent to them! Everyone there is so THANKFUL- they can’t believe HRE sent an entire semi-truck of donations! Braeburn Elementary is also very thankful to have a few of our staff members there to help unpack the truck. Thank you again for your support!

Weekly G.R.I.P. Winners

All HRE students know about G.R.I.P. - an acronym which stands for Gratitude Respect Integrity Purpose. Students may earn "GRIP SLIPS" by demonstrating any one of these character traits. Each week, teachers draw one name from their classroom Grip Slips and that student is the Grip Slip winner for the week from that classroom. Those names are then entered into a weekly drawing per grade level; one name is drawn per grade level and those students come to the office to choose a small prize. We are pleased to announce our Grip Slip winners for the week:

Kindergarten: Beckett Kutch from Mrs. Howard's class demonstrated Purpose.

1st Grade: Connor Bates from Mrs. Gue's class demonstrated Gratitude.

2nd Grade: Simon Turner from Mrs. Edwards' class demonstrated Integrity.

3rd Grade: Will Carlon from Mrs. Sitar's class demonstrated Respect.

4th Grade: Caitlyn Blair from Mrs. Mitchell's class demonstrated Respect.

HRE Family Tree

Great news! It's time to come together again and create our HRE family tree! We have so many wonderful school wide projects taking place this is the perfect time to display all the beautiful faces & families who are working so hard to make a difference around our community. Our goal this year is to have every frame turned in from all students and staff members so we can unite as one HRE family. This activity is very fun and only requires a cute smile, some creativity and lots of color. Please use the example below as a guide and follow the four steps to complete your frame. I am so excited for your participation and teamwork as we come together to grow our HRE family tree and brighten the walls of HRE.

  1. Glue a picture of you and your family in the center of the 5x7 frame.
  2. Write your last name on the top of the frame.
  3. Decorate the white space around your picture using stickers or objects thatrepresent fun activities you and your family like to do together. You may also glue on sequins, buttons, feathers, beads or gems to make your family picture really POP! Please be sure to add lots of color and be creative.
  4. Turn your fully decorated frame into school as soon as possible.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools recently entered in to a partnership with Community Health Network to begin to provide behavioral health services to students during the school day. Hoosier Road was assigned a licensed mental health therapist who will be available to help support students and families throughout the week. If you have questions or are interested in pursuing this service please contact the school counselor, Kate Young, to learn more.
