SCHOOL PICTURE DAY
Park Place Middle School picture day is
Wednesday, May 12th (Cohort A)
Thursday, May 13th (Cohort B).
Packets were handed out during 6th period this week.
We are experiencing a number of students calling their parents from class for pick up due to illness without notifying their teacher or staff member. This is NOT correct protocol.
ALL students who are feeling ill must notify their teacher immediately and will be screened by the health room. We will then contact parents for pick up if necessary.
If your child calls you directly, please inform them to tell their teacher and/or go to the health room.
ATTENDANCE
You may do this through Family Access or the staff directory on the Monroe School District-Park Place Middle School website: Park Place Staff Directory.

THE HEALTH ROOM SQUAD
Dear Park Place Puma families,
There has been a recent uptick in the number of COVID-positive cases in Snohomish County. As a result, you may have received a call from the health room notifying you that your student may have been in close contact with a COVID-positive peer. I want to emphasize that this call does not mean your student is infected, necessarily, but they will need to remain in quarantine for a set amount of time prior to coming back in person.
I have been asked several times how long this quarantine period will last. In the case of close contact with a confirmed COVID-positive person, the length of time is 14 days from the date of last contact. The Snohomish Health District guidelines linked below provide additional information.

https://www.snohd.org/DocumentCenter/View/7206/SP-Close-Contact-Quarantine-Guidelines-0421 (Spanish)
Park Place and Monroe School district adhere to these guidelines in our attempts to prevent the spread of COVID and keep everyone as healthy as possible. As always, if you have any questions, please contact the Park Place health room at (360) 804-4332.

Dear Families,
We know that the economy has hit some of our families hard and the Sky Valley Food Bank is collaborating with us to help ease some of the hardship. The Weekend Food Bag program is intended for families with students receiving free\reduced lunch.
The Food Bank will deliver the bags to our school every Tuesday when school is in session. The bags usually contain snack items, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, breakfast food, and weigh around 5 lbs.
Please return the enrollment form linked here: Solicitud de mochilas de fin de semana-Weekend Food Bags to your student’s counselor as soon as possible if you wish to receive a bag of food each Tuesday. No further paperwork and additional questions are required of you or your student.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kathy Jackson
