Farragut Weekly Updates - 10/7/17

From the desk of Principal Ngo

Dear Farragut Foxes,

With the busyness and challenges of everyday life, it is important to take some time to slow things down and try to enjoy the simpler things in life. This week, I was watching the kindergartners play on the front lawn - digging in the dirt, running on the grass, playing solo cup bowling, enjoying the moment, and I realized how much we as parents need to get out of our heads and live mindfully, in the moment.

With everything that we are faced with in this world, it is so important that we practice self-care for ourselves and our children. For me personally this means, dancing wildly with my kids in PJs, reading 8 bedtime stories instead of 4 (and really doing the voices), laying down and elevating my legs after a long day, and if I'm lucky, taking a trip to the store by myself and aimlessly wandering the aisles for things I don't need.

So, to my Fox Family, I implore you to find your happy place this weekend and practice the self-care that we so desperately need, but often don't take the time to do (and I will do the same). Our kids need us to, because we will be our better selves for it and better parents for them.

Your proud principal,

Rebecca Ngo
