FREE Breakfast & FREE Lunch for ALL STUDENTS: 2021-2022

Great news! The federal program that allowed Wayland Union Schools to offer FREE meals to ALL STUDENTS during the 2020-2021 school year will be extending this benefit through the 2021-2022 school year!

Therefore, ALL students will again be eligible to receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch from the school cafeteria during the school day! Participation is optional and there is no registration required.

This is great news for so many of our families and a great way to come back to school in the fall!

Over 350,000 FREE MEALS Served!

Healthy meals are an important part of a student's success in school. Many studies have found that children who eat regular, healthy meals are less likely to be tired, are more attentive in class, and retain more information throughout the school day. That's why the WUS Food Service staff take great care and pride in their work!

During the 2020-2021 school year, the WUS Food Service staff prepared and served over 350,000 FREE meals to students! This includes prepackaged meals sent home for students who were learning VIRTUALLY as well as in-school meals served through the school cafeterias.

One parent stated, "Wayland's Food Service department is just outstanding! I am so thankful for these meals! What a huge burden off of families and a blessing. It's helped our family tremendously."

"Lunch Hero Day" was held on May 7th to show appreciation for all the time, care, and dedication our Food Service Staff bring to the children of our district! Like all school staff, the Food Service staff have had to remain flexible and adapt this year. From serving in the café to handing out VIRTUAL MEALS outside, through all the weather and quarantines, they've managed all of it to make sure students get the nutrition they need.

Thank you to all our Food Service Staff for helping the WUS students feel cared for and valued!

Free & Reduced Price Meal Applications: 2021-2022

The process for applying for the Free & Reduced Price Meals Program has not yet been finalized for the 2021-2022 school year. Typically, applications open for submission in July for the school year starting in August.

We expect this information to be given to school districts soon and encourage all families to submit an application once the process is open.

The school district will be sure to pass along updated information to families as soon as it becomes available.

Updating Online Payment Methods

Infinite Campus will be updating it's payment processing partner this summer. This will have minimal impact on your Parent Portal account. For security reasons however, no payment methods will be carried over to the updated version of Infinite Campus. All previously saved payment methods (i.e. credit cards or eChecking accounts) within your Parent Portal account will be deleted to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data.

Once the software update is complete, you will be asked to re-enter your preferred payment method(s) into Infinite Campus the next time you make a payment using the Parent Portal.
