FREE Breakfast & FREE Lunch for ALL STUDENTS: 2021-2022
Therefore, ALL students will again be eligible to receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch from the school cafeteria during the school day! Participation is optional and there is no registration required.
This is great news for so many of our families and a great way to come back to school in the fall!
Over 350,000 FREE MEALS Served!
During the 2020-2021 school year, the WUS Food Service staff prepared and served over 350,000 FREE meals to students! This includes prepackaged meals sent home for students who were learning VIRTUALLY as well as in-school meals served through the school cafeterias.
One parent stated, "Wayland's Food Service department is just outstanding! I am so thankful for these meals! What a huge burden off of families and a blessing. It's helped our family tremendously."
"Lunch Hero Day" was held on May 7th to show appreciation for all the time, care, and dedication our Food Service Staff bring to the children of our district! Like all school staff, the Food Service staff have had to remain flexible and adapt this year. From serving in the café to handing out VIRTUAL MEALS outside, through all the weather and quarantines, they've managed all of it to make sure students get the nutrition they need.
Thank you to all our Food Service Staff for helping the WUS students feel cared for and valued!
Q & A: Student Lunch Account Balances
ANSWER: All balances carry over to the following school year.
QUESTION: How do I empty the positive balance from my student's lunch account if we are moving out of the district or if my child has graduated?
ANSWER: Email the Food Service office a request and include 1.) Your child's name 2.) to whom the reimbursement check needs to be made payable and 3.) to what address the check needs to be mailed.
QUESTION: Can parents make payments on their student's account over the summer?
ANSWER: Yes! You can log into the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus to add money to your student's account at any time.
WE ASK THAT ALL ACCOUNTS WITH NEGATIVE BALANCES BE PAID BY THE END OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR.
Free & Reduced Price Meal Applications: 2021-2022
