Blue Jay Bulletin for Parents
September 11, 2020 - Issue 11
Dear Blue Jay Families,
The 2020-21 school year is off and running! A shout-out to our parents...your support in communicating with the classroom teachers and school when keeping your child home for precautionary measures has been greatly appreciated. We are still in school and I am thankful for every day that we get to be in-person. A couple of items to note...
- 2019-20 Awards Assembly (virtual edition) - Students watched the video in class today. The link is below if you would like to watch as well. Congratulations to all!
- Birthday treats - We are still welcoming birthday treats in the classrooms as long as they are prepackaged and there is an extra one for the principal (insert laugh).
- We were approved for free breakfasts and lunches. Every student that eats a breakfast or lunch beginning September 8 through September 30 will receive their meal free of charge. Please see attached letter from Mr. Sickels below.
- We are finalizing a document that outlines what virtual schooling would look like if we have to go to that option in the future. I will send that out in our next Bulletin. Please note that does not mean that we are going to virtual schooling; it is merely a proactive measure put in place in the event we have to go virtual in the future.
A special thank you to our staff and students. The patience, flexibility, and positive attitude displayed throughout the hallways and in the classrooms has been remarkable. I tip my hat to a great team effort by all!
