Jackson A Vilain
Jackson should be critisized for many reasons. He started the Indian Removal Act, which led to the Trail of Tears, killing around four thousand Indians. Jackson was very unfair to the Indians and the rich.
Did Jackson promote democracy?
I think Andrew Jackson promoted democracy by supporting the common man and states rights when he refused to resign the contract for the national bank. He put the money from the national bank into smaller state banks, giving more power to the common people. Since there were more common people than the rich, he helped more people out. He didn't nessesarily hurt any of the upper class by closing the bank. Jackson didn't do much to harm the upper class. He did more help to the country than harm.
Trail of Tears
The trail of tears shows how Jackson was a villain. That event killed so many people.
Satisfying only the common people
Jackson only wanted to help the common people. He wanted to close the national bank. He also gave common people political jobs just if they supported him. That's not fair.
