Weekly Report
Please have your child make sure an assignment is completely done before turning it in. We can't continue to grade the same assignment over and over. Grades have been updated in RDS. Remember that assignments are due the next school day by 9:00 am. If an assignment is one day late, it receives half credit and after that it is a zero. Miss Mendoza and I are always updating, if you feel we missed something, please contact us.
I'd like some more attendance on Google Meets. We will have our 10AM meets for questions only. We then will meet with students twice a week for about 20 minutes, during this time we ask for no parents to be in the room. This will allow your child to speak for themselves and interact as they would in school. Please refer to my schedule at the bottom of this newsletter for your child's days and times. In addition to Miss Mendoza, we have an aide, Miss Betustak. So, you may see any of us on a meet. It would be helpful to have some paper, math and reading books, and a pencil nearby.
If you have any questions, please ask. I hope this clears some things up. I know this is a lot of information. I explain everything to them, I promise. We all know that sometimes ears are not ready to hear.
I added some grades this week. Please do not worry if grades seem low to begin. It is a new grade. If a grade wasn't so good and it's the only grade so far, the overall grade isn't going to be good either. They have a long time to bring it up.
Reading---Our story is Judy Moody Mood Martian. We are focusing on using figurative language (idioms) this week. There will be a story quiz on Friday.
Math--We will start Topic 1. It is called Topic 1: Understand Multiplication and Division of Whole Numbers.
Spelling--The words focus on long vowel sounds. We will have a test on Friday. Remember to do your Spelling City assignments each day Monday-Thursday. Our tests are on Friday.
Social Studies--We are working through the Scholastic News issue with the girl named Bellen. We will do a few more articles in this issue. Scholastic News is great nonfiction text for the children to read.
English--We will start Week 2 of Daily Language Review.
