Last WEek at Miller

Thank you!

Thank you for an amazing first week back! You rocked arrival and dismissal, and your children were rock stars during the school day. Our Kindergarten learners are adjusting to going to school every day! We had a few tears on Thursday and Friday, but don't fret, Parents, this will get better! School is hard work!

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child's success and happiness at Miller! We are here to serve you and your family well! Please let us know how we can improve!

News to Know

Dismissal

We love that you are SO excited to see your child(ren) at the end of the school day, but for everyone's safety, please do not exit your vehicles in the dismissal line. Our staff will assist your child in finding and getting in your vehicle. I know some of our youngest learners are still in a 5-point harness. Please allow them to get in the car. Pull forward (out of the car dismissal line), and then buckle them properly.

Our dismissal record last week was 3:38. That is awesome (especially in the first week of school)! We will shorten this time a few more minutes with your help! Thanks!

Interested in Serving?

We are looking for a business representative and a community representative for our Campus Improvement Plan Committee. We will meet approximately 3 times this school year, and our first meeting is September 5 from 3:30 - 4:30 in the LME Library. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please email me at shannon_west@misd.gs.

Device Fees

Devices will be delivered to classes soon. Have you paid your child's device fee? The fee is $25 per child and can be paid on campus (cash, check, or credit card) or via MySchoolBucks.

www.misd.gs / enrollment / device protection fee online payment system - These steps will direct you to MySchoolBucks.

We use our devices daily to enhance instruction through educational apps, collaborative projects through google suite, reading ebooks, and so much more! If you want more information, contact your child's teacher to talk about all of the awesome experiences these tools provide for their learners!

Destination Imagination

From Mrs. West:

If you are new to Miller, you will not want to miss this opportunity for your child(ren). Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Moss are rockstars, and your child(ren) will thrive in this creative outlet!

From Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Moss:

Additional Information

Save the Date

A reservation form will be going home this week, but we wanted to make sure grandparents save the date for our 1st annual Picnic and Play for Grandparents' Day! We invite grandparents to join their grandchild during recess for some fun yard games, and then head to the cafeteria for lunch. I am sure it will be a day to remember! All visitors will need their license scanned through our Raptor system, so if that has not been completed for this school year, we encourage grandparents to swing by before hand to get it done! Out of town? No worries! We will get them scanned in when they arrive!

Because of enrollment numbers, Grandparents' Day will be held for specific grade levels on Thursday and Friday. We are unable to allow siblings to recess / lunch together. All learners will follow their grade level's schedule. Thank you for understanding!

Background Check Forms

All adults attending field trips with our learners this year will need a background check. These checks are completed through the district and must be done each school year.

These forms must be TWO SEPARATE PAGES, not front and back. They should be stapled; the pages are separated at Admin during processing.

You can turn these forms in to your child's teacher.
