Mrs. Walters News
Hello Bushnell Families~
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Next week we will be celebrating some celestial bodies by dressing in colors for different planets and the moon!
Monday- Wear RED for Mars
Tuesday- Wear BLUE for Neptune
Wednesday- Wear GRAY for the Moon
Thursday- Wear YELLOW for Venus
Friday- Wear your Bushnell T-Shirt for Bushnell Pride day!
Also- We hope to see you all at Culver's on Tuesday night from 5:00-8:00!
So far our students have turned in a total of 362 reading logs which represents 1,448 books read! Congratulations to Mrs. Hoover's class whose class turned in 21 logs and continues to keep the rocket trophy all next week!
Every classroom has been reading the Magic Tree House chapter book Midnight on the Moon. Ask your child about it! This is a very fun series that typically focuses on a historical event, person or scientific topic. There's always lots to learn and lots to keep the kids engaged!
Food Service Update
Food Service has some great news to share. We have been given the opportunity to move all students who qualify for reduced-price meals to free for the remainder of the year. This transition will begin on Monday March 20th. If your student currently receives reduced-priced meals, you do not to do anything to receive this additional benefit. If you think you may qualify for free or reduced meals you can still apply. This link, https://lowell.familyportal.cloud/ allows you to access your students lunch account, as well as apply for benefits.
As always, if you have any questions please reach out to Brad Stinson at 616.987.2964 or bstinson@lowellschools.com
Thank you to all who shopped at our book fair this year! It was a HUGE success. Thank you to our librarian, Mrs. Cramer, for all of her hard work setting things up. Also- thank you to all the parent volunteers who came in to help kids shop and keep things organized.
Both preschool and kindergarten registration for next year will be opening up on Monday! If your child will be 5 years old by September 1st, they are eligible to register for this fall. Our registration process will be online. The first documents we will need are screenshots or copies of a parent/guardian driver's license, a birth certificate for your child and 2 proofs of residency which can all be uploaded into the online system.
