#CelebrateMonday
December 3, 2018
Sometimes I find it easier to #CelebrateMonday when it's dreary out by considering the scene above.
For me, looking at a picture of the beach brings immediate peace to my entire being. I find my breath slows, my shoulders relax, and I immediately smile. I think it's so important for us to have things like this in our lives - that image, song, person - whatever! that can bring us an immediate feeling of peace and calm (even if just for a moment).
Do you know what it is that can bring you that immediate sense of peace? If not, you can borrow the beach from me for now until you figure out yours!
But when I #CelebrateMonday every week with you - it compels me to find a reason to be positive, excited and engaged in the week - even if I have to dig a little deeper to find the reason.
Today I'm thinking about the very LARGE impact some of our small actions can have. And while we talked about random acts of kindness as a way to express gratitude last month, that's not exactly what I'm talking about now.
I'm talking more about those small actions, that sometimes aren't even deliberate on our part, and the long-term, positive effects they can have. They are like knocking over the first domino sometimes and creating that chain reaction.
Sometimes, all it takes is a smile or a word of encouragement that can open the doors of possibility in another's life.
I know that I have shared this video before - but I think it's worth viewing at least annually. It reminds us of the power that we hold and the importance of our actions - no matter how small they may seem.
You never know - it could be a lollipop moment for someone!
It could also be the way you make this the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
P.S. The video below has some of the same information as the one above, but the focus is all on leadership and does not include the actual lollipop story. While some of it is repeated, you may enjoy it - so that's why I added it to the end.
