NOTES FROM THE OFFICE

Andover Road Work

You have probably noticed that traffic patterns along Andover Road near our school have been altered this week. Crews are working to move utility lines, the first step in what will eventually lead to the widening of Andover Road this summer. The current work, being performed by Kansas Gas, is expected to last about four weeks. It will be followed by work by other utility companies to move their lines. We will be in contact with the City of Andover about potential impacts on traffic as they pertain to AHS, AMS and Cottonwood, and we hope to be able to communicate more details as the city shares them with us. We appreciate your patience as inconveniences over the next few months will lead to better traffic flow for future years.

Accident Reminder

The Kansas Traffic Ordinance, adopted by the City of Andover, Section 26, requires that any driver involved in an accident with another vehicle or property; must immediately stop and either locate the owner of the other vehicle or property or shall attach securely in a conspicuous place in or on such vehicle or other property a written notice giving such driver's name, address, and the registration number of the vehicle such driver was driving, AND without unnecessary delay shall notify the nearest office of authorized police authority. Do the right thing, the High School Office and SRO Kintzel can assist you in finding the owner of the other vehicle so you can exchange information. Imagine how you would feel if somebody ran into your vehicle, and then just drove off. The sooner you take responsibility for a mistake, the easier it is to make it right. Fail to be responsible; Violation of Section 26 is a misdemeanor.

Student Morning Drop Off

Please drop students off in the morning in front of the Atheltic Entrance. Do NOT drop off in the fire lane or by the main entrance of the school. This helps maintain the flow of traffic. Thank you.
