What's the Buzz?!?

A look back...
Also, I would like to thank everyone for their extra diligence when sending students down to the nurse, it has definitely been a lot less hectic in the office. I would like to thank Dana, as well, who has been walking the students back to class- that's a really nice added touch.
Finally, I would like to thank the whole team for getting behind, and supporting, the 6th grade fundraiser for their Outdoor Education trip. It is so nice to watch everyone come together to support the initiatives of our kids!
I will not be in the building until 10:00 AM tomorrow as I have a meeting at another school. From 10-1 I will be supporting the cafeteria staff in whatever way they may need. If you need anything at all please see me there.
Fall Pictures
Each faculty member will need to be pictured this day for Faculty ID cards. If this is not a day you are normally scheduled to come in please come by 9am so that you can be pictured before we begin photographing the classes. If this poses a problem for you, please see me so we can work something else out.
Mandated Services
If you are a new teacher to St. Francis this year please go to http://mandatedservices.com, go to the login section and click "I do not have an account". This will prompt you to create one. Please ensure that you choose St. Francis de Sales- AKRON (as there are two in the state of Ohio).
If you need additional help with this, or more information on what you are able to count as far as recording minutes please see me or your team leader teacher.

A look ahead...
- Keep in mind as you do cool things with your students in class, and are taking pictures, to send them to me via text or email so that I can share them on our Social Media pages as well as with our new yearbook company. In addition, we have had a really nice camera donated to us from Diane Mellody. If you would like to sign the camera out for a project or a field trip just let me know!
- If you haven't yet, please check out last Thursday's letter that went home to parents. It was full of lots of great information that you will need in the upcoming weeks. In addition, if there is every anything that you would like me to put in our Thursday letter for the greater good, please let me know.
- Please pray for our 6th graders who will participate in their all class retreat this Tuesday, September 20. They will not have specials classes this day.
- This Tuesday, September 20 the office will be closed at 3pm so that we can work on the accreditation box.
Silent/Oral Auction
Please remember that this event DIRECTLY impacts our students and helps to provide many necessary items. If you feel strongly about the money raised this year going to something specific please send me a private message so that I can discuss it with Fr. Bline at our Tuesday meeting.
In addition, you will notice that the first two weeks of October we will be asking our parents to send in money for the class basket. Teachers will be in charge of managing this aspect this year so that we can ensure it is a seamless process. Once the money is collected the room coordinator will take over purchasing the items. I would suggest that each teacher keep track of donations in a Google Doc shared with Kara. Kara will provide each teacher with a money holder at the beginning of collections that you can store all money in. At the end of collections each day please send the pouch downstairs so that we are able to store it safely in the safe.
Mary Alice and I are working on a couple of small activities that teachers could do on Fridays in their classrooms in the moments between announcements and Mass to help students augment their communication skills. Once we have something solidified we will share it with you. If you have any activities that you have found successful in your own classrooms, please do not hesitate to share.
