ELC Mitigation Strategies Update
Hello families!
The first week of school has been wonderful and our students are thriving and love being in their new classrooms. We have implemented all of our mitigation strategies to maintain safety and health (visual below).
Due to changes implemented from Governor Pritzker and the Lake County Health Department, we have increased our distance between students during snack and lunch. Any time that our Preschool and Kindergarten students remove their masks indoors, we must maintain 6 feet of social distance.
Students are still receiving mask breaks during lunch, snack, recess, and gross motor activities outdoors. We will continue to be flexible and support our school's safety.
If you have any questions, please reach out to myself or your child's teacher.
Ms. Michelle
SHIELD Student Testing
*Families/students who have opted out with the school district will not be tested on a weekly basis.
For further information regarding SHIELD testing, please review the district COVID-19 information website.
Health Reminders
1. If your child is sick with covid symptoms, please keep all district 220 students at home and call our ELC School Nurse, Keri Personette, for further guidance.

2. Our district Health and Wellness Policy supports the state level effort to combat childhood obesity. In addition, we have students in our school with allergies that we need to keep safe. In support of this effort, we do not celebrate birthdays with treats. We recognize that birthdays are an important occasion in a child's life, and we do honor that. Teachers have special birthday traditions in their classroom to recognize a child’s birthday. Please do not bring in treats into the building as we will need to send them home with your student. Thank you for honoring this decision as we support the health and wellness for all our students.
