Interested in becoming a Campus Safety Assistant?
We are still in need of any interested adults to work morning or afternoon shifts to cover our recess, lunch, and afternoon recess shifts. Please contact Stacey Coombe, our Office Manager, if you are interested in this opportunity!
Parking Lot Reminders
Here are some reminders to assist us in keeping our students safe in the parking lot:
- Stay in the right hand lane, move all the way forward, and ONLY drop your student off from the right side of the vehicle .
- Do not allow your child to walk unattended between cars.
- Never leave your vehicle unattended in the drive-thru lanes.
- Do not block intersections along Oberlin Avenue while waiting to enter the parking lot.
COVID-19 Resources for Families
Parent Representatives Still Needed
We are still looking for parents to serve as representatives on our district's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) committee, District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC), African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC), and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning and Others Advisory Council (LGBTQ+ AC) . Please email me if you are interested in serving as an Aspen parent representative on one of these committees. Please know that there is a commitment to attend their monthly meetings.
PFA Announcements
Aspen Restaurant Night! 12/8
Aspen Restaurant Night! Make dinner easy next Wednesday and eat at Cisco's and support our school and a local business. Cisco's is donating 15% back to Aspen from 12pm to 9pm on Dec 8th. Your participation helps the PFA to continue to fund activities for our students and to support our teachers and the Aspen staff. Be sure to bring the attached flyer to qualify.

Aspen's 2nd Annual Care and Share Event is NEXT WEEK!
Aspen's annual Care and Share food drive begins next week and runs from December 6-15th. For every item donated, a paper link will be added to the Aspen fence. Let's see how many links we can put up this year! Last year we had almost 950 links in our chain. Let's try to get one more!
Boxes for donations will be at the main gate and the Kindergarten gate. Please consider donating something this year! Thank you!

School Cents
Thank you for your generous support of The Oaks Holiday Toy Drive benefiting the Children’s Auxiliary Services of Ventura County which supports children in foster care. We also received over 25,000 School Cents points because of your generosity.
Holiday gifts? Gift cards? Dinner from one of the restaurants on The Oaks Mall property? The School Cents Program is currently offering 20 points per dollar spent from now until January 15! School Cents is a competition between Aspen and other local schools. Every time you shop or dine at The Oaks Mall from September 1 through April 30, we can earn up to $2,500 for Aspen! To help raise money for Aspen, please drop your Oaks receipts in the new School Cents Box in the office. Or you can visit shoppingpartnership.com/theoaks/ and follow the instructions to submit your receipts. You can also email an image of your receipt to aspenschoolrewards@gmail.com and we will submit it for you.
