Principal's Message
Dear Sabre families,
We hope you have had a good start to the month of March.
Thank you to our Sabre families for completing the 2023-2024 Returning Student Registration form.
Over the next few weeks, we will be starting the course registration process with our current grade 10's and 11's. The counsellors will be giving a virtual presentation about specific high school graduation requirements and highlighting the Course Handbook. Then, students will be choosing their courses on computers supported by administration and counsellors. If you have specific questions regarding course selection or requirements, please reach out to the grade level administrator or the grade level counsellor.
As we approach Spring Break, a number of assignments and assessments will be on the horizon for our students. A reminder that all academic and CTS support is available on our opportunity Wednesday’s. If you have any questions or would like to meet with administration or guidance to devise an individualized plan, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As you may or may not know, we have moved away from the vending machines throughout the building and opened the Cafeteria for food service throughout the day. It has created more space which we can utilize for more student seating. It will allow for more student choice at better prices and our students working the Cafeteria can access work experience along with enterprise and innovation credits. As a note, if your child forgets their lunch or is ever hungry during the day, we have food and drink for kids at no charge in the office.
Our Sabres have been competing and participating in lots of activities across Alberta. Our Debate Team had a strong showing at the University of Alberta Competition recently with students being recognized for their excellence. Our relatively new Robotics Team qualified this past weekend in Red Deer for provincials and are having an absolute ton of fun in doing so. Congratulations to our Cheer Team for competing in the True North Dance & Cheer Championships.
Also, what a run our Senior Girls Basketball Team went on to make it back to the Division One Championship game. They upset both Harry Ainlay and Scona before losing to a strong Jasper Place team and earning silver medals. Good luck at provincials!

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on March 21 and April 19, from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. with both being in person. Stay tuned for our next Sabre Scene for the link to book your interview times.
For any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Have a good week.
