Abraham Lincoln
1. Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809. He was born in Kentucky, He was also married to Mary Todd Lincoln. They were married in 1842 and had four boys together. Abe became president in 1860 and was the 16th president of the United States of America. He was known as "Honest Abe" because he stood up to a town bully. Lincoln have a speech in a cemetary to free slaves and it's called the Emancipation Proclaimation. The Kansas-Nebraska act made Lincoln back into politics. Lincoln was assassinated in Fords theatre by John Wilkes Booth on April 15, 1865.

3. Abraham hated slavery. Overall he was against the Civil War and wanted to get rid of slavery for good.

1. Lincoln's beard was historic, he was the first president to sport a beard while serving in office.

3. Not long before Lincoln was assassinated, Lincoln told a dream where he heard someone crying in the White House. When he found the room it was coming from, he asked who had died. He told it was the president. He went to the coffin and looked in it, he saw his own face in the coffin.

If I were Abe how would I have felt being him?
I think it would be very hard to be president of the US. Especially hard being the leader of the union. I think what he did about slavery was food and I would feel the same way. He supported women's rights so I like that a lot. In my opinion he was the best president the US ever had. I would also be a little scared being him just about everything he was against and how the people who do it would react.
Jarrett Brown
1. Jarrett Brown was a slave owner, he owns 260 slaves on his property. Most of his slaves work on cotton fields. They usual do planting, harvesting, and removing weeds or other unwanted plants. If he needs to he will hurt his slaves, sometimes even put them to death. He doesn't allow his slaves to be in groups, learn to read or write, or leave his property. He is one harsh slave owner. I wouldn't want to be his slave.
Jarrett Brown's role in the Civil War
Jarrett Brown was a slave owner, which the civil war was all about ending slavery, so it must have been a hard time. But he deserved it!

He was probably concerned about losing all his slaves. He would have to do all the work if he has lost all his slaves. He most likley worked his slaves very hard during that time, and possibly took all his anger out on the slaves.

If I were Jarrett Brown how would I feel?
If I were him which I would never choose to be, I would be scared of losing all my slaves to the Civil War. If I had lost all my slaves I would be furious and be angry that I would have to do all the work now and that I lost all my slaves.
Mary Schiner
1. There isn't much about Mary Schiner. She was a slave during the Civil War. She was born a slave. She has a friend that as also born as a slave, Harriet Jacobs.
What was Mary Schiner in the Civil War
Mary Schiner was a slave during the Civil war. The Civil war was all about ending slavery. She must have been excited that she may have to be let go than having to be a slave the rest of her life.
Howe did she feel about the Civil war and her role?
She was probably really excited about the Civil war because there was a chance she would be let free, if the South lost she'd be free. I bet she hated being a slave, I don't think anyone would like to be a slave.

If I were Mary Schiner how would I feel?
I would be very scared, especially born into slavery. Yet I would be happy about the Civil war and if that there was a chance of me getting out of slavery. I think slavery would be very hard and unfair. I'd have to do everything perfectly or I'd be beaten. I would be terrified to be a slave.
