May there be the light of our lamps all around our yards...
May the sky light up with fireworks...

With a season of happiness all around.
loud shirt and wacky hair Day
As a school our Loud Shirt Wacky Hair day last Friday managed to raise over $100 to help children and adults with profound hearing loss who access sound through cochlear implants.
Check out some of the wacky hair and bright shirts below:
100 years of kim & paula AND gumboot friday
Kim and Paula are both celebrating a milestone birthday (50!) so what better way to celebrate these two superstars by dressing up bright!
This Friday is also Gumboot Friday, so wear your gummys and bring an optional donation. This is a fun way to raise money for kids' mental health.
kai manager wanted
In 2022, Puketapu School will be preparing and distributing Lunches in Schools ourselves.
We are looking for an incredible, kind, food-obsessed person to lead the Ka Ora, Ka Ako Lunch in Schools programme as the Kai Manager / Head Chef at our school so if you are interested or know someone who might be, take a look at: https://bit.ly/3CHWktM
Be cool like batman and wear your hat!
These students (& Whaea Shaina) from Kauri 3 have been trying out their soft materials skills and made face masks.
What a great start to the season!
Thanks to everyone who supported our children on Monday so they could play. The big smiles on the fields said so much.
Things were very different to what we are used to but everyone got on with it and did what they had to to follow the protocols. Thanks again to Shane Gray at City Touch as that was a lot of work and juggling to make it happen. We are very grateful.
We had a number of disappointed children this week as they were not in a team when they thought they were. Notices went out via Hero, Facebook and in the newsletter asking parents to confirm the change to Monday. The teams were put together with this information.
Due to Covid team sizes are limited so we cannot squeeze children into teams this term.
Please continue to check Hero and Facebook for update for touch and other sports.
Time to download hero?
Hero is our primary means of communication so all permission slips and sign up sheets go out in Hero first.
How do I access Hero?
Hero can be accessed using a web browser, but we highly recommend downloading the Hero app to your mobile phone.
Your access is linked to the email address you have registered in your child’s record at the school (so if you change your email address, please let us know.)
Full instructions can be found here: https://hero.linc-ed.com/parents/.
If you have any problems accessing Hero, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We can add multiple email addresses for each child and we encourage all caregivers to create log-ins.

Sports Fees and Other Bills
All sports fees are due now. Please pay your invoice - either online or at the school office. The cost charged to players for sport is paid directly to the sporting body so if you don't pay we have to increase costs next time.
Please check your account and pay anything outstanding. We work hard to keep costs as low as we possibly can, so please help us by keeping your bills paid. If you need to spread the costs, please speak with Paula in the office.
Unfortunately our whole school Cross Country will not happen this year due to the current COVID regulations.
Each learning team is currently planning an alternative event to be run separately.
Please continue to bring in your sponsorship forms as there will still be spot prizes once the events have all been.
Just a couple of hours (up to 5 hours) per week, to help with weeding and keeping our garden spaces looking loved.
If you can help, please contact Paula in the school office.
