Looking for more Buddy Families....
We are excited to have many new families joining our Hi-C community for the 2023-24 school year! We would love to continue our Buddy Family program. Current Hi-C families are paired with a new family to be a connection to the community. We ask Buddy Families to welcome the new family and be an additional resource if they have questions.
If your family is interested in being a Buddy Family, please complete the short form HERE.
We try to partner families who have students of similar ages so we would love a wide variety of families including those with middle school students!
Thank you for considering!

Build Community Through Conversation
Learn to Listen Courageously
"Courage is the most important of all virtues, because without courage you cannot practice any of the other virtues consistently," Dr. Maya Angelou said. When you think of being courageous, you might think of facing a common fear like the fear of heights or public speaking. Facing fears involves discomfort and uncertainty. How might listening to different points of view make us feel vulnerable or as risk? And what are the possible benefits?
Join our April 24 Living Room Conversation on Listening Courageously where you can explore with groups of 4 to 6 people why it might take courage to listen and what possible benefits may emerge from being vulnerable.
Pick the session that best fits your schedule: 8:30 to 10 am OR 6:30 to 8 pm in the Lumen Christi Community Room.
Treats will be served. Registration appreciated, but not required. Feel free to drop in!

Host Families Needed for Cretin-Derham Hall International Students 2023-2024
My name is Lili Liu and my organization, American International Student Service Center, is
working with Cretin-Derham Hall to provide home stay accommodations for the international
students who will be studying at CDH next year. We are in search of more host families.
We are reaching out to the community to see if there are families who would be interested in
hosting an international student next year.
Host families receive a monthly stipend of $1,100, no experience needed; you will need to pass
criminal background check (we pay for it)
We believe that hosting an international student is a unique and rewarding experience that allows
families to learn about different cultures and make lifelong connections. Hosting an international
student can also be a great way for families to expose their children to different perspectives and
create lasting memories.
Our students come from all over the world and are eager to experience American culture and
education.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a positive impact in a young person's life
and create a lasting connection with someone from a different part of the world.
If you can't host but know someone who may be interested in an amazing experience like this,
please reach out to us directly.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have and provide additional information.
