The Problem with Math is English
This book study opportunity will explore the language of mathematics, and how, by teaching the language of math, we can increase achievement of all learners.
Learning outcomes include:
- Understand how language focused instruction leads students to a deeper understanding than traditional procedural-based teaching methods.
- Become equipped with tools to help students identify and comprehend essential math concepts by examining the concepts through the lenses of language and symbolism.
