From Mrs. Waters:

Earlier this year each class had a math page with homework for the week. At this time all assignments are being placed on the Canvas Calendar. Therefore, there is no longer a need for a Math Page.

Be sure to check your child's Canvas Calendar to see homework/events each week!

Literature Circles

We are going to be trying something completely new in reading class for the next 3 weeks. We are going to be working with 6th grade classes from R. J. Baskett Middle School in Gas City (near Marion) on literature circles. We are using a website called SeeSaw to communicate among classes to discuss novels. A few times throughout this unit, students will be able to video chat with their partners in Gas City to have a unique discussion/questioning time.

I am extremely excited about this opportunity and can't wait to see how the students rise to the possible challenges that may arise. It should be a fun few weeks and gives students the chance to make some new friends.

Week of April 23-27

  • Monday-Introduce Literature Circles, project work time
  • Tuesday-Compare/contrast book with video clip, project work time, lit circle work time
  • Wednesday-Bibliography lesson, project work time, lit circle work time
  • Thursday-(field trip day) If we meet, we will use this time to work on projects/lit cirlces
  • Friday-Book Fair, first job for lit circle due, research due Monday-work time
