There are five different types of licenses in a copyright each one grants different rights to the user of the work.
Public domain makes the work completely usable and accessible to everyone with no costs or restrictions. Some examples of public domain, are, Shakespeare, the Bible etc.

Freeware is software that is free to download and share, an example to this is Google Chrome and other free web browsers.
Shareware
Shareware is software that can be downloaded for free, but the user must pay to continue using it later on, like a free trial. An example of this is Winrar.
All Rights Reserved
All rights reserved is the strictest license. The user must pay to even own the work, but cannot share or edit it.
Open Source
With open source, the creators publish the code along with the software, making it readily able to edit or modify, as well as easy to change. An example of this is Linux.
