Message from Dr. Ramirez
Dear CRHS Learning Community,
I hope you all enjoyed your first full Fall weekend. We walked the Johnston Mill trail today and enjoyed seeing the early stages of the leaves turning bright red. I think Fall might be my favorite season of the year!
This week the OCS Board will hear several options regarding school re-opening and then they will make a decision. You all received a survey that asked you if you plan on sending your student to school for face-to-face instruction (see below). This survey will help us make two groups of returning students; Group A and Group B. You may have many questions about the specifics of returning to school and you may end up changing your mind. That's okay! CRHS will send another survey if the board chooses to return to school. I will hold a series of meetings to outline the process for CHRS as soon as a final decision is made. Students will still have the option of remaining 100% for the rest of the semester.
Teachers have posted grades. We are seeking parent and student acknowledgment of their Progress Report. See the section below for details.
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Ramirez

Students have the time and the opportunity to improve grades. It's not too late.
If you have a student enrolled in the 1st semester of year-long AP course, please remind your student to join their teacher's AP classroom. AP teachers have been sending out email reminders and class announcements for students to complete this process. Exam orders are based on the students that have joined the class, not the school enrollment. If you have questions please contact your AP teacher.

Message to OCS Families Regarding Survey
Dear Families,
Thank you to all of the families who have completed the survey that was sent to you on Thursday from OCS. Your responses will help the entire district plan for a safe return to school. While many questions remain unanswered, I wanted to share some things we do know about our possible return to school.
Today’s survey is letting us know which option you are choosing for your child if a decision is made to return to in person learning at the end of the first 9 week marking period. You are making the decision between Virtual Academy--100 % remote or Plan B: Hybrid model of some in person/some online instruction. You may revisit your decision at the end of each 9 week marking period.
The number of students who opt for either 100% remote learning or Plan B: hybrid learning will help us plan for things like transportation and instructional needs.
It is our intent to keep students with their current teachers, but we cannot make guarantees until we receive feedback from our families. Our teachers' expertise, as well as the relationships built during the first nine weeks, are critical to the success of our students.
At this time, we are reviewing information about school hours, class time hours, and the total minutes of instruction (both in-person and 100% remote) each day. The number of students on buses and in our buildings, as well as the necessary safety procedures, will drive some of these decisions. We will share this information as soon as it is available.
If a student opts for 100% remote learning via the OCS Virtual Academy, they will still have the chance to participate in extracurricular activities like athletics, band, and clubs. However, 100% remote students would be responsible for their own transportation to practices, events, etc.
Students who opt for the OCS Virtual Academy (fully remote option) will not have to apply.
If your family did not receive the survey, you may complete it here. Our team encourages you to complete the survey for every child in your home by noon this Monday, September 28. We want as much Stanback data as possible represented in our overall district data. Your feedback will help to drive many important decisions over the next few months.
