## When the percent is unknown and the numbers are NOT friendly The diagonal numbers in all true proportions will multiply up to the same product. So, multiply the two known diagonal numbers. Then, divide the remaining known number into that total product to find the missing number. | ## When the percent is unknown and the numbers ARE friendly : ) Look for a multiplication or division relationship! | ## When the percent IS known, but a part is unknown First, simplify the percent if possible! In this case, 25/100 simplifies to 1/4. Then, either look for a friendly multiplication or division relationship, OR use diagonal multiplication. |
