GMS Principal's Corner
May 8, 2022
Dear Galvin Families,
Special thanks to the GMS CAPT for hosting a fabulous teacher/staff appreciation lunch on Wednesday and to all parents who donated and volunteered their time. CAPT also provided many other items to the faculty.
Our teachers and staff work hard all year and we are grateful for everything they do each and every day on behalf of our student and families.

GMS Summer Scholars
At Galvin Middle School, our program will target students entering grades 7 and 8 who did not make sufficient progress during the school year to pass one or more core academic courses and incoming grade 6 students who have identified academic and transition support needs. This program will allow them the opportunity to revisit the power standards in ELA, math, science and social studies with the goal of meeting the standards necessary to move on to the next grade with the foundation necessary for success next year.
GMS Summer Scholars program will run from July 18th- August 11th
Monday through Thursday from 8am-11am at GMS.
.
Students who are chosen to participate in the GMS Summer Scholars program will engage in a Project Based Learning experience called "Challenges." This PBL unit will be based on the essential question: How do people develop resilience when faced with challenges? Students will read two novels, engage in math centers, and create a final product that shows their learning. More information will be coming soon.
