Main character

Jodee Blanco: The author of this novel and narrator of the book. She Nice/ caring, stands up for people who don't deserve it, outgoing, anything but selfish and is shy at some times. She isn't really a athletic person, she loves to right about things as you can tell in this book, she wrote. Has one physical deformity, but at the end of the book she gets it fixed through surgery. She lives with her mom and dad and is an only child. She doesn't have many friends at the beginning, but she makes a few good ones at the end such as paul, annie, niko, tim and mitch

conflict and resolution

She gets bullied because she stands up for what rights and people don't agree with what she does. Jodee later gets bullied For the physical deformity she has. The bullying for what she thinks is right doesn't really stop or get fixed till she is an adult. But the physical deformity gets fixed through surgery once she turns 17 and she needs one more surgery once she is older. It is character vs character and character vs self.

The theme is that bullying can really mess people up and make them feel depressed and very few times does it turn out good for the victim. For the bullies it can have a very negative effect on the victim. For the victims that sometimes you just have to hang in there.

Textual Evidence

"What a desperate, pathetic fool I was. Time after time, my friends had shown me their true colors. Yet I still wanted to believe they were sorry for causing me pain." Pg. 128 I really liked this quote, because it chose what some people can like. That they are friends with you and hang out with you. Until something bad happens to you then its like you two didn't ever talk

My Review

I thought that the book was really good and I would give it 4 and a half starts. But in this case it I recommend this book but not for just anybody. I prefer people read it especially if they are being bullied or if they are the bully so that they see what bullying does to people and if your being bullied you still have hope.
