Expand Your PLN: Meet-Ups for Casual Learning
June 12 Conversations
Our first meet-up was a success, with lots of rich discussions about makerspaces and reading/literacy promotions and enough people to break out into both elementary and secondary groups. Quite a few people were interested in learning more about some of the makerspace tools, so please sign up if you can bring, demonstrate and explain how you use these items (or add to the Google Doc) at our next meet-up.
Notes and ideas from our discussions on June 12th. Please feel free to add resources or notes that may not have been included:
- Elementary
- Secondary (Watch for a Google Doc in your e-mail!)
Thanks to Kristi Babb for inviting us into her library. Most everyone was able to extend the conversations over lunch at Pizza Shoppe. Remember, this is a come-as-you-are, come-when-you-can scene, with discussions driven by your topic suggestions previously submitted. This is an opportunity to put a face with a name, and an opportunity to become better acquainted with colleagues from neighboring districts.
Our next meet-up will be held on July 20th from 10 a.m. to noon at Liberty High School, and followed by lunch nearby. We had some great conversations over lunch last time! If you would like to join the meet-ups, please put us on your calendar! If you have more questions, feel free to reach out using contact information for each district.
