Important - 8th Grade Students and Parents

Ms. Brogdon, High School Counselor, will be coming down to speak to all 8th grade students during their Social Studies classes on Feb. 1st. Ms. Brogdon will review High School requirements and start to build their schedule for their freshmen year of High School. Be sure to ask to see the brochure that they are bringing home that covers important requirements.

Quarantined Students

We understand that it is an inconvenience when your child is quarantined due to a positive contact. Our teachers have done a fabulous job of insuring that their content is accessible online for those students. Be sure to have your child check their Google Classroom throughout the school day for new assignments or videos. Teachers are happy to answer questions via email or even schedule Google Meets if needed. Students will be given grace when they return to the building, but it is much easier for them if they can stay up on their assignments while they are at home.

Congratulations to our Green and Gold Winners for Winterfest!!!

Conduct Daily Health Screenings

In accordance with Board of Education policies, our Return to Learn plans and direction from local, state and federal health officials, if your student has any of the following symptoms, you must keep them home from school!

  • temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
  • sore throat
  • an uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
  • the onset of a severe headache
  • diarrhea and/or vomiting
  • unusual belly pain
  • new loss of taste or smell

IMPORTANT: Based on Board policies and written guidance from local, state and federal health officials, in order for your child to return to school after experiencing one or more of the above symptoms a parent/guardian must provide a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note releasing the student to attend school. If you do not provide a negative COVID-19 test result or doctor’s note, then your student will be excluded from Coloma Community Schools for ten (10) days from the first day they had symptoms. They must also be fever free for 24 hours and/or their symptoms have improved after the ten (10) day exclusion period before they can return.
