The Global Gladiator
Promoting a Culture of International Mindedness at CCHS
Happy December, Global Glads!
There are exactly 29 days left until the end of 2014! It is amazing how fast this year has gone by! As Global Gladiators, let us all make each day left of 2014 COUNT!
Our students are doing an awesome job with their personal projects! We are waiting with great expectation to see the final products. KUDOS to Mrs. Underwood, who is going above and beyond the call of duty as a supervisor to her mentee, Destinee Escoe!
Additionally, all teachers should have received their MYP Personal Project Supervisor Notebook. If you do not have your notebook yet, please see Mrs. Lee in the main office by Friday, December 5, 2014. Be sure to record your meetings with your mentees in the Contact Log.

Ebola, Public Health, and the Globe
Thanks to Biology teachers like Mrs. Valinda Miller, students at CCHS made real world connections to the Ebola virus outbreak, public health response efforts, and the the globe's reaction. Looking through the lenses of Globalization and Sustainability(one of our six Global Contexts), Mrs. Miller used this current event to demonstrate to her students how resources and access to those resources impact our global interactions as it pertains to disease control. In Mrs. Miller's class, students have done case studies about this virus and engaged in an awesome activity called, "Pass it On." Here, students were able to simulate and trace the spread of a virus. Be sure to check out the link to the PDF below. Go Global Glads!

How can IB...more CARING?
This month's IB Learner Profile focus is CARING. In what ways can you encourage your students to become CARING individuals who give back to the community? Live to Give! Do not forget to contribute to the annual CCHS Gift Card Drive! Our students in need will be so thankful for your generous donations during this holiday season. Please See Dr. Ashlee Wegmann and Mrs. Jennifer Frost for more information!
