Staying Healthy Over the Holiday Season
It can be hard to stay on a healthy path during the holiday season with all of the parties and various foods. Here are a few easy tips to help you stay on the right track.
1. Look at your options before choosing
When arriving at a party, the first thing many of us do it head right to the food table to fill up a plate. Instead, take a look around at all of the food options before grabbing one of each. Choose the foods that you only get to have once a year during the holiday time rather than foods that you can eat any time throughout the year.
2. If you don't have it, you can't eat it
It can be very tempting to bring home leftovers or keep a few extra cookies to stay at your house rather than bring to a holiday party. If it's in the house and you know it's there, you will probably eat it. Instead, opt out of bringing home and/or keeping unhealthy treats at your house.
3. Keep Moving
The colder weather makes it easier for us to make excuses not to move. Yet, this time of year is filled with treats which makes us need to move more than ever. Don't forget to stay active!
