Hello, Mustangs!

I can't thank you enough for the delicious luncheon on Thursday! We truly enjoyed every morsel and taste! We are very blessed to have the support and care of our Midway parents and volunteers. Thank YOU! By the way...don't hesitate to share those recipes!

Please, oh, please...add to your calendar the most wonderful cultural event of the year, International Night. This will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, 6:00-8:00 p.m., in our cafeteria. You will have tasting opportunities from many different countries as well as cultural information and activities. This is truly a spectacular evening and free! Bring the whole family!

Spread the word among your neighbors that kindergarten and first grade registration opens on Monday, Jan. 28. This is very important as we need students registered as soon as possible. The number of students determines the number of teachers. Adding a class as school opens causes unnecessary anxiety to parents. Get those registrations in! As new neighbors move into your neighborhoods, please encourage them to register right away.

Again, thank you all for your wonderful support! Our Midway family rocks and we are blessed to be a part of it.

Read, rest, and model the caring and respect of our great civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!

Yours truly,

Jan Fickling, Principal

Midway is doing a different fundraiser this year in physical education. We have done Jump Rope for Heart for many years but our national organization, SHAPE America, dropped the program because of lack of financial responsibility.

We have decided to donate all money to a local organization Palmetto Children's Hospital. We have a student Kellen Hoey who has "rung the bell" and will officially be cancer free in 2020.

I have a attached fundraising information and a video of the Hoey family. We named our fundraising event Jump 4 Kids. We will have our jumping day on Jan. 30th.

Thank You for your help!

Morgan and Taylor are rehearsing with Miss Trent and Mrs. Rogers. They are also dedicating time each day at home to prepare six very challenging selections. The music includes two foreign languages, and all the selections are advanced in harmony, melody, rhythm, and vocal technique.

The music will be performed at First Baptist Church Columbia. The program is Saturday, February 9th. No admission is charged and the public is invited to attend.
